Kristen Stewart Spreads Her Wings In “The Runaways”

Kristen Stewart, who is so famously known as “Bella” from the “Twilight” movie series, will test the waters of a different pool with her performance in the new movie “The Runaways”. “The Runaways” is the story of the popular band from the 70’s that rose like a phoenix and burned out quickly. For those who don’t remember the band, this is the story of Joan Jett and Cherie Currie.

Joan and Cherrie founded the group in the 70’s and they rocketed to stardom. It was a dream come true that soon turned into a nightmare as fighting and drugs caused the group to only last a few years before they exploded apart. Kristen Stewart will play Joan Jett and Dakota Fanning, star of such movies as “I am Sam” and “The Secret Life of Bees”, plays Cherrie Currie. The Runaways will be released on March 19, 2010 and it will be interesting to see if Kristen’s Twilight fans follow her to the new feature.

Robert Pattinson Is A Fan Of Kristen Stewart’s Upcoming Movies

If the thought of Bella Swan (otherwise known as Kristen Stewart) swinging on a stripper pole in “Welcome to the Rileys” has you OMEing like there’s no tomorrow, let us ease your mind with a trusted endorsement. According to Kristen’s “Eclipse” costar Robert Pattinson, the upcoming flick is “amazing.

When MTV News caught up with Mr. Pattinson at the premiere of his own film, “Remember Me,” the actor had kudos not only for Kristen’s turn as a teen prostitute, but admitted he was also quite taken with her portrayal of rocker chick Joan Jett. “I saw a really early cut of ‘The Runaways,’ ” Rob said of the film out March 19. “It was really good. And ‘Welcome to the Rileys’ is really good too. But I saw both things at really early cuts, so I don’t know really what they’re like now.”

New Moon Director Promises Eclipse Will Be ‘Steamy’

Chris Weitz, who directed New Moon, the second installment in the Twilight series, says he has read the script for this summer’s third installment, Eclipse – and that one scene in particular is a scorcher.

“I’m looking forward to the sleeping bag scene, I gotta say,” Weitz tells PEOPLE. “That’s going to be very steamy.”

In Eclipse’s fan-favorite “tent scene,” – spoiler alert! – a freezing Bella, who is on the run from evil vamp Victoria, gets a warm-up from werewolf Jacob when he squeezes into her sleeping bag – while a jealous Edward looks on. The movie will open June 30.
